About ADAP

ADAP is a Swiss non-governmental organization with an international vocation, established in Geneva in 1997. ADAP is recognized by the Swiss Federal Government as a public utility and is tax-exempt. It supports local initiatives of community-based natural resource management in Sub-Saharan Africa.

At ADAP we believe that any nature conservation initiative that does not take into account the needs of the communities living in close contact with their natural resources is doomed to fail. ADAP thus plays a bridging role between community, government, and private actors in the implementation of sustainable development strategies, and in reconciling often divergent interests. ADAP is also involved in research and education partnerships, aimed at developing innovative solutions to problems encountered in the field.

Member of the Fédération Genevoise de Coopération (FGC) since 2001 and of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) since 2018, ADAP coordinates numerous actions with many local, national, and international partners at the operational level conducting research and supporting development. The association operates thanks to a small, tight-knit team of volunteers who work tirelessly and always look for new members happy to help. Are you ready to engage with us?
