ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION AS DRIVER OF DEVELOPMENT<\/h2>\n

Vision<\/h2>\n

Local communities regain their rightful place in the management of protected areas in order to preserve biodiversity and improve their livelihoods.<\/p>\n

Mission Statement<\/h2>\n

ADAP’s mission can be broken down into 5 areas of intervention:<\/p>\n

  1. Secure<\/strong> the rights of local populations and promote inclusive governance of protected areas and natural resources.<\/li>\n
  2. Encourage<\/strong>, wherever possible, the implementation of participatory governance approaches that bridge the gap between local, national, and global levels and contribute to conflict reduction.<\/li>\n
  3. Enhance<\/strong> the value of natural resources by developing added-value chains and fair trade.<\/li>\n
  4. Document and disseminate<\/strong> the impact, learning and knowledge of actions.<\/li>\n
  5. Contribute<\/strong> to national and global policy debates on protected areas, biodiversity conservation and the role of local populations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
